The New Day Cleveland crew recently tagged along to a client’s house to learn how I help highly visible women like you make sense of their closet!
I shared my unique styling process designed to help you save time, money, and stress while also putting your best image forward.
Closet Cleanse
This is where you start, so we can weed out the pieces you no longer need and build back from a strong foundation. The pieces you no longer love, are worn and torn, don’t fit, or simply aren’t your style are bagged up and donated. Afterwards, I reorganize your closet, so it’s Pinterest perfect and easy to manage.
DIY Closet Organization Tips:
- A clean closet leads to a clean mind and less decision fatigue (AKA less stress when getting dressed).
- Organize your clothes in sections (i.e. work, casual, date night) and then organize those sections by sleeve type (i.e. sleeveless, short sleeve, and long sleeve) and then organize those sections by rainbow color order (starting with red and ending with black and white.)
- Remember: it’s good to be picky! You CAN have a closet that’s only filled with pieces you LOVE.
Mixing + Matching
Once your Closet Cleanse is complete, we’ll move on to inventorying your items, so we always know what we have and can create outfits with.
Now when you get dressed, all you have to do is unlock your phone, head to an app, and determine for which occasion you’re getting dressed. Once you do that, a multitude of stylist approved looks appear and you choose what you want to wear. Check that off your to-do list!
Personal Shopping
Whether you’re local to Cleveland or live elsewhere, our final step is building your closet back up by shopping for what you need. After the mixing + matching process, this task becomes so much more efficient. I not only know what you have and how many outfits those pieces will make, but I’ve also learned what pieces you need to maximize your wardrobe (and keep you interested and satisfied with your outfits). With a personal stylist there’s no more wearing the same outfit over and over again, no more getting dressed and feeling like you’re missing a piece, and no more over shopping or double purchasing (when you like something you like something! But you definitely don’t need 5 black and white striped sweaters).
As your personal shopper, I then create your streamlined shopping list and compare that with your Style Profile (which details your specific style, colors, and patterns) to determine which brands and styles are the ones you truly need to buy. That’s when we start filling your closet back in and mixing + matching your new pieces so you know exactly what to wear and how to wear it. (Curious about your style?
